Write My Epic came about as an idea that a friend of mine and I had. A community where anyone could post their own mini-comics. We saw that there was such a site in existence, but I liked the idea. I let it simmer for a few years, and tossed around other elements of what such an endeavor might seek to achieve and came up with what we have here now.
Have you ever wanted to publish your own comic, or get critique for your writing, but didn’t want to maintain your own site or blog? That’s where we come in. We seek to create a community that will support its members, and help them grow as creators. Ideally, we will have a good mix of up-and-coming creators, out of high school and just starting to write, as well as experienced writers such as our EIC Celeste who has a degree in creative writing, and our good friend and published author Jerrod Begora. I dabble in several arenas, so I will post a variety of material, and hopefully will evolve as a creator as well.
We want you to come to this community and share ideas and methods, and find new ways to do something, or even get help on a chapter you just can’t seem to finish.
We will hold writing round-robins, and will ultimately seek to distribute some of those stories as free e-books, for people to get their name out.
I started a couple of fanfiction writing groups, focused on specific characters and universes, and I hope others join me. Personally, they serve as a outlet for some ideas that I have had floating around for some time. Especially the Knight Rider area. I’ve got a big concept there, and I hope I can get some people in on that idea.
I hope you join us for the fun.
