I’ve been living here for over 500 years. I’ve never really thought of that before. I’m over 600 years old. I guess you get the advantage of a long life and only a few gray hairs when you have an advanced haling factor. There was a time, when I spent my life running around, causing all sorts of trouble. I fought in the Second World War, was part of a program called Weapon X, but all that’s gone now. All of it ended when Apocalypse destroyed it all. I joined the X-Men then, and met the most beautiful women in the world. I left the X-Men with her and vowed to never return. Then she and the guy named Apocalypse were killed also. Except me. The man who was once called Weapon X. Now, I’m simply Logan.

CONTINUITY NOTE: This issue precedes any Flashpoint issue of any title.
The ship was huge. It was the largest invention that mankind and mutant-kind had forged since their years began in Avalon so many years ago. The vessel that has been dubbed the Blackbird by Exodus, founder of the New World’s X-Men. The vessel is, in essence, an all terrain vehicle, it currently hovers a mere inch and a half off of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean but can race along any surface it comes across (or even lack thereof). Inside the Blackbird sits a team of mutants that fate has thrown to Exodus, leaving them to be forged in his image of the New X-Men. The Immortal Ruler of the New World Order sits alone in the back corner of the large transport vessel clutching a book that has not seen the light of day in centuries. The front of the book proclaimed, in giant letters:

I have discovered something puzzling while in space…a destroyed vessel just outside our solar system held this log entry…

Watcher Log: Subject: Terran “Mutant” Rath.
Rath is an unknown element. Since his appearance many super-cycles ago, he has been a most curious creature. He first appeared when he was captured and held hostage by the Kol race, galactic slave traders. He managed to lead a successful rebellion from the prisons, never showing anything but intense drive to be free. He was killed getting the last of his fellow slaves on an escaping vessel.
